We are happy to announce the organization of the 3rd meeting of the EURO Working Group on Stochastic Modelling.

Dates: Monday, June 7 to Wednesday, June 9, 2010.
Organized by: University of Athens, Department of Mathematics.
Conference venue:
Amalia Hotel, Nafplio, Greece.

This meeting will be the 3rd in a series of conferences aiming to promote research and encourage interaction in the working group of stochastic modelling. The first meeting of the EURO Working Group on Stochastic Modelling was held from 19th April until 21st April 2006 at the Department of Mathematics at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The second meeting was held from 23rd June until 25th June 2008 at Koc University in Istanbul, Turkey.

Applied Probabilists, Operation Researchers, Engineers, Computer Scientists and Statisticians with a main or side interest in stochastic modelling are very welcome. The scope of the conference includes both theoretical papers with advances in mathematical techniques that can be useful for analyzing stochastic models as well as applications of performance analysis of telecommunication systems, the modelling of logistics and service systems, the theory of queueing and inventory models, revenue management, and so forth.

Authors with ongoing or completed unpublished work or recently published papers on stochastic models are welcome to present their results. There will also be plenary talks by:

  • Onno Boxma (Eindhoven University of Technology and EURANDOM),
  • Ulrich Rieder (University of Ulm).
